Bermuda Embassies and Consulates

Consulates can be a valuable resource for international travelers in Bermuda

A Helping Hand

Consulates provide a friendly face abroad and can assist you with lost or stolen passports, emergencies, and general information. Local consular offices also provide a list of local doctors, dentists, and medical specialists.

If you are involved in an emergency, go to the nearest consular office for your native country and register as a citizen in the region. Although you may not have needed your passport to get onto a particular island, it is good idea to bring it along for identification purposes.

If you are injured or become seriously ill, a consul will help you find medical assistance and, at your request, inform family or friends. It is unlikely you'll receive government financial assistance for an emergency trip back home; pre-purchased travel insurance will, however, cover such expenses. Travel insurance is a wise provision for an unforeseen cancellation or incidental medical expenses.

There are no foreign embassies in Bermuda, however both the United States and Portugal maintain consulates there. Other nations are generally represented by locals or former residents who act as honorary consuls on the island. Below you will find contact information:
